Description
The Redlip morwong is a morwong (Cheilodactylidae) from temperate rocky and reef water of western Australia. The species grows to about 30 cm and has a deep, laterally compressed body with thick lips and a few elongated, fleshy lower pectoral rays with which it feels over the bottom. As a bottom-oriented fish it searches over sand, gravel and reef for worms, small crustaceans and molluscs. It is locally a food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
