Description
Puerzl's killifish is a small, colourful killifish of the family Nothobranchiidae from the rainforests of Cameroon in West-Central Africa. The species reaches about 8 cm; the males are handsomely coloured with red, blue and greenish tones, the females inconspicuous brown. It inhabits swamps and shallow, swampy parts of brooks and small streams in the rainforest. Unlike the annual killifishes this is not a seasonal fish. It is a bottom spawner whose eggs have about two months' incubation. The diet consists of insects and small invertebrates.
