The Aphyosemion georgiae is a freshwater fish of the family Nothobranchiidae that grows up to 4 cm.
Description
Aphyosemion georgiae is a small, colourful killifish of the family Nothobranchiidae from the rainforest of West-Central Africa. The species reaches only about 3.5 cm; the males are brightly coloured with red, blue and yellow tones, while the females are inconspicuous brown. It lives in small, often swampy brooks beneath the rainforest canopy. Unlike the annual killifishes this is not a seasonal fish: the pools do not dry out completely. The diet consists of small zooplankton and insect larvae. In the aquarium the species is difficult to keep.
