Description

Carpenter's goby is a small goby (Gobiidae) from fresh water of the Philippines. The species grows to about 6 cm and has a stocky, brown-speckled body with rows of small spots and fused pelvic fins forming a weak sucker. As a bottom-dweller it perches among stones and gravel of clear, fast-flowing streams and snaps at insect larvae and small invertebrates. The fish is harmless to humans.
