Description

The Timor snapper is a snapper (Lutjanidae) from the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 74 cm and has an elongate, red-brown to silver-pink body. As a bottom-oriented predator it lives around deeper rocky and coral reefs and on adjacent soft bottoms and hunts fish, crustaceans and squid. It is a valued food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
