Description
Staner's cichlid is a cichlid from Lake Tanganyika in East Africa, recently placed in the genus Greenwoodochromis. The species grows to about 19 cm and has an elongate, greyish body with large eyes. As a bottom-oriented hunter it lives over soft bottoms of the deeper water and searches for small invertebrates and small fish. It is a mouthbrooder. The fish is harmless to humans.
