Description
The manyline coral goby is a tiny coral goby (Gobiidae) from shallow reef water of the western Pacific. The species grows to about 3 cm and has a stocky, deep body with fine pale longitudinal lines and a thick, slimy skin that secretes distasteful substances against predators. It lives its whole life hidden among the branches of a live Acropora coral and snaps at minute zooplankton and coral mucus. The fish is harmless to humans.
