Description
The streamer bass is a sea bass (Serranidae) from the western Atlantic Ocean. The species is handsomely red-yellow coloured and has elongate fin rays. It lives near the bottom on semi-hard bottoms of the deeper continental shelf and upper slope. As a predator it feeds on small zooplankton, small crustaceans and small fishes. It is marketed fresh. The species is harmless to humans.
