Description
The Banka rasbora is a small cyprinid (Cyprinidae) from blackwater streams and forest pools of Sundaland in Southeast Asia. The species grows to about 6 cm and has a slender, laterally compressed, coppery body with a dark longitudinal stripe. As a social schooling fish it swims in clear, soft, acidic waters among leaf litter and snaps at small zooplankton, insect larvae and algae. The fish is harmless to humans.
