Description
The namorado sandperch is a large sandperch (Pinguipedidae) from coastal waters of the southwest Atlantic, off Brazil. The species grows to about 1.2 metres and has an elongate, brown-grey body with fine markings and a fairly large mouth. As a bottom-oriented predator it lives around deeper rocky reefs and seizes fish, crustaceans and molluscs. It is a valued food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
