Description
The slender pimelodella is a small, rare catfish from the Rupununi basin in Guyana and French Guiana in South America. The species grows to about 8 cm and has a slender, silvery body with long barbels and the pectoral and dorsal fin spines characteristic of catfishes. As a bottom-dweller the fish lives in tropical fresh water; little is known of its biology. The fish is harmless to humans and is assessed as Least Concern (LC) by the IUCN.
