Description

The Yellowtip threadfin bream is a threadfin bream (Nemipteridae) from coastal waters of the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 20 cm and has an elongate, red-pink to silvery body with yellow longitudinal lines and often a thread-like extended upper tail lobe. As a bottom-oriented fish it searches over sand and mud bottoms for small crustaceans, worms and small fish. It is an important food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
