Description

Koller's gudgeon is a cyprinid relative (Gobionidae) from fresh water of rivers in East Asia. The species grows to about 8 cm and has a slender, elongate, sandy-brown body with several pairs of barbels, a flattened underside and an inferior mouth. As a bottom-dweller it lives among sand and gravel of flowing rivers and searches with the barbels for insect larvae and small invertebrates. The fish is harmless to humans.
