Description

The streamline chub is a small minnow (Leuciscidae) from fresh water of the eastern United States. The species grows to about 10 cm and has a slender, streamlined, silvery body with a row of dark blotches along the flank and a pair of barbels at the inferior mouth. As a bottom-dweller it lives in clear, fast-flowing rivers with gravel bottoms and searches for insect larvae and small invertebrates. The fish is harmless to humans.
