Description
Aphyosemion bualanum is a small, colourful killifish (family Nothobranchiidae) of Central Africa. The species reaches only about 5 cm and has a slender body; males are brightly coloured in red, blue and yellow, while females are plainer. It lives in brooks and swamps of the open, humid grassland savanna on the highlands. Unlike many killifish it is not a seasonal species, but it is considered difficult to keep in an aquarium. Its diet consists of insects, insect larvae and small invertebrates. The species is harmless to humans.
