Description

Allardice's moray is a small moray (Muraenidae) from the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 17 cm and has a slender, snake-shaped, brownish, scaleless body with fine markings. As a secretive reef-dweller it hides in crevices and under rubble of shallow coral and rocky reefs and hunts small crustaceans and small fish. Despite its small size it can bite if grabbed; handle with care.
