Bleeker's smoothbelly sardinella is a herring (Dorosomatidae) from coastal waters of the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 28 cm and has a streamlined, fairly round-bodied, silvery body without a sharp belly keel. As a schooling fish it swims in great numbers through coastal water and filters zooplankton with its gill rakers. It is a food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
